North Lake Tahoe

The North Shore of Lake Tahoe offers a contrast to the South Shore with fewer hotel accommodations and not a large variety of dining options.  However, what is on the North Shore is great!  There are several marinas, a few shopping centers with boutique shopping, Truckee River adventures with rafting, night time music events scattered around, a bicycle path that skirts the lake shore along the north, the west side and Truckee River into Squaw Valley, camp grounds, and three world class ski areas:  Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley and Northstar.  There are several trails accessing back country, some good fishing spots both on the lake and along the rivers, adventure parks for the kids, and on-going events throughout summer and winter.  It is just a beautiful area!

Residential properties sit beside ski runs, on mountain tops for those great lake views, quietly sit on the lake's shore, or are tucked among pines and firs.  The North Shore neighborhoods are many.  From  Tahoe City, the North Shore family of communities include, Dollar Point, Old County, Ridgewood,  Agate Bay, Carnelian Bay,  Cedar Flat, Tahoe Vista, Brockway Vista, and Kings Beach.  Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and homes along the Truckee River are considered part of the North Shore.  Some, not all, of the neighborhoods have Associations that include pier access, buoy fields, and private beaches.
