North Shore of Lake Tahoe

The North Shore of Lake Tahoe includes the area from Tahoe City and crosses the state line into Nevada.  Tahoe City, when looking at a map of the lake, is actually located along the West Shore of the lake.  Most people consider Tahoe City to be on the famed North Shore however.  This part of the lake has the advantage of southern exposure which is helpful during the winter months and relatively quick access to several ski resorts and the bustling town of Truckee and Highway 80.

Several unique communities sit along the North Shore.  They range from properties placed close to golf courses, luxury properties with piers, quaint mountain cabins with views of the surrounding forests, to those that are situated on hill tops with expansive lake views.  Areas of development include Tahoe City, Lake Forest, Dollar Point, The Highlands, Old County, Agate Bay, Carnelian Bay, Tahoe Vista, and Kings Beach.  Some sub divisions have private beaches with buoys and piers, and some do not.  There is plenty of dining, shopping, marinas, beaches, and hiking trails for year-round outdoor activity.  The North Shore is an integral hub for Lake Tahoe.
