West Shore of Lake Tahoe
The West Shore of Lake Tahoe includes several communities linked together by Highway 89 along the lake shore from Tahoe City to Emerald Bay. The west shore offers canopied bike paths and hiking trails both to the lake and into Desolation Wilderness. The homes along the West Shore are tucked beneath Sierra peaks and have cooler temperatures due to the forested surroundings. During the winter months, the West Shore experiences more snowfall than the southern exposure of the North Shore.
Real Estate opportunities range from homes with deep water piers to those that sit at the top of a hillside, overlooking the lake or forest. The communities that are within the West Shore corridor are Tahoe City with it's shopping and dining advantages, marina and US Coast Guard boat launch, Tahoe Park with it's private homeowner's beach, Sunnyside with the marina and fabulous dining, Homewood for making some winter runs, Tahoma for the relaxed feel and close proximity to Sugar Pine State Park, and the wondrous Rubicon that hosts trails along the shores of the lake and some pristine stretches of beach. The West Shore has it's magic!
